Spring Tournament at McAullifes

Sunday, February 6th, 2010

The First Annual Spring Tournament at McAullifes - The Awarding of the Coveted McAuliffes Pint!

Saturday, February 6th was the first annual Spring tournament at McAullifes.  A good time was had by all.  As we have come to expect, the competition was brutal with eight sociable's in the game (including, of course, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy question)

A brilliant showing by all teams and it came down to wise wagering on the final questions.  Congratulations to Death to all Butt Metal as the McAullife's Pub Spring Tournament Champions.  Hope they clean out that trophy.

Thanks to JJ McAuliffe for sponsoring the event.

Racine Post

a.) Burger King
b.) AFLAC

Tournament of Champions Nets Team Cool $2000

January 17, 2009

Milwaukee—In 9-months, Team Trivia of Wisconsin has grown it’s trivia league to a staggering 133 league teams.  Showing Team Trivia’s commitment to the league, BBC and Team Trivia sponsored the first annual Tournament of Champions.  Top teams from both league seasons of 2008 competed for $2000 cash and the coveted Trivial Cup.  Held at G-Daddy’s BBC, 26 teams, from all around Southeastern Wisconsin, competed in a 2-hour tournament with subjects ranging from animals to taxes with no clear winner pulling away until late in the second half.

The Next Big Thing’s (home bar Babe’s in Madison), solid first half performance and strong second half put them almost out of reach from most teams by the time the final question was read.  Their effort earned them the $2000 cash, possession of the Trivial Cup for 1-year and guarantees that the Tournament of Champions will be played in Madison next year.  Placing second, Oh! My Liver! And third place awarded to Your Mom Goes To College.

Team Trivia of Wisconsin league and normal play is always free to play.  Information can be found at www.teamtriviawi.com
